Avril Lavigne not behind Perez Hilton attack blog: manager

TORONTO - Avril Lavigne's manager says the punky pop star is not behind an attack blog set up in her name.

Terry McBride says Lavigne has nothing to do with the website www.perezlavigne.com, which slams U.S. blogger Perez Hilton and features a video clip of Lavigne apparently welcoming viewers to the page. Lavigne has long been a favourite target of Hilton's celebrity gossip site, perezhilton.com.

But McBride says he and Lavigne "do not engage in attacking people" and that they are focusing on her upcoming world tour.

As of Friday, the attack blog purported to have support from nearly 6,000 Lavigne fans, including several celebrities.
